Water containing some aspirin helps your plants fight illness. Dissolve aspirin (1.5 pills per 2 gallons of water) in a bucket and administer to your plants. Spray your plants with the water if they have a disease. Plants should be sprayed once every two to three weeks.

When growing plants inside of the house, you should ensure the thermostat is set at around 65-75 degrees in the daytime. Young plants need a temperature within that specific range to grow. If you think it would not be comfortable to keep your residence that warm in the winter, consider purchasing a heat lamp to use on the plants.

Coffee Grounds

Add used coffee grounds to your soil. Coffee beans are loaded with nitrogen, which offers nourishment for plants. Plants need nitrogen in order to thrive, so give it a natural source with coffee grounds, then watch everything come to life much more quickly.

Consider solving your weed problem without the use of toxic chemicals. You can easily control weeds by using layered sheets of newspaper. Without light, there can be no weeds. The newspaper will block sunlight and weeds won’t be able to grow. It’s easy for newspapers to break down over an extended period of time, making them great for compost. If you want it to look better, just add a layer or two of much over top of the newspapers.

Use untreated wood, stone, or brick to build a raised bed. When selecting wood, make certain you pick untreated products that have a natural resistance to rot. Excellent choices are cedar, locust and cypress. Avoid using treated wood in an organic vegetable garden. The chemicals in the wood can leak into the soil, and eventually into the plants. If you have used treated lumber, line your beds with plastic.

If you want to sell your crops as organic, you should look into obtaining a certification proving that you are an organic garden. This will up your sales and prove to your loyal customers that what they have been getting is only the best that you possibly could get.
