If you have recently planted seeds in your organic garden, you should regularly aerate the soil by using your hands to gently sift it. While it seems a little odd, it has been reported that this can encourage plant growth.
Depending on the season and weather, adjust your watering habits. You should consider water quality and soil type when watering your plants. Try to water your plants at the same time every day, as time of day also affects how much water they need. In warm climates with high humidity, for instance, plants often develop fungal infections when water is applied to the leaves. Make sure that your root system is well-watered.
Mulch your garden to keep the soil nourished. The soil will be efficiently protected. On hot, dry days, mulch keeps the dirt underneath cool and moist. This protects and nourishes plant roots. This helps soil keep its moisture by reducing the rate of evaporation. As an added bonus, weed growth will be stunted.
