Learn How To Garden In Small Gardens

Want An Organic Garden? Here Are Some Tips To Try!

In the world of organic gardening, there are plenty of great resources available to both new and experienced organic gardeners alike. There are many e-guides, books, videos, and other resources available. This set of tips contains some of the best advice for helping a good organic gardener become a great organic gardener.

If you are growing plants inside of your home, you need to keep the thermostat set to 65 to 75 degrees during the day. The plants need this temperature in order to effectively grow. If you don’t like keeping your home that temperature in the winter, you may wish to consider getting a heat lamp, instead, to keep your organic plants the correct temperature.

It’s simple to lay a new perennial bed. Simply use a spade or small shovel to get under the grass or turf and flip it over. Then, using wood chips, cover the area to a depth of three or four inches. Allow for at least 10 days to pass, then plant the perennials that you just purchased.

Flower Beds

For your flower beds, organic material should be used as mulch. Two or three inches should be enough. A thick layer of mulch will prevent weeds, reduce watering needs and fertilize your garden. Mulch will also improve the general appearance of your flower beds.

Spend your time working efficiently in your organic garden. Don’t waste time searching for lost tools. You can prepare what you need beforehand, keep it all handy in a toolbox or a shed, and you will be ready to work in your garden at a moment’s notice. You can keep your garden tools in a tool belt, or in your pockets. Another good idea is to keep them all in a bucket that you carry around with you.

Make sure you consider adequate spacing when planting your garden, so that each plant is given room enough to grow and flourish. As plants grow and spread out, you will not always know how much space will be required. You need to take into account the plant’s size when it is fully grown, as well as allowing space for air circulation between each plant. Try to plan your garden and place sufficient distance in between your seedlings.

When it’s harvest time, you should utilize a basket that you put laundry in to carry your veggies. A laundry basket will act as a strainer for your produce. The produce can be rinsed off as it sits in the laundry basket, and extra water will drain out through the sides.

With the above information in hand, you now know a little bit about what is needed to succeed as an organic gardener. There are many resources available; you just have to learn how to find and use them. If you keep this information in mind, you should be able to grow a great organic garden in no time.
