About Me

Hi, I’m Gerry — Small-Space Gardener in Minnesota

Decades in the dirt!

I garden where space is tight and seasons are short — right here in Minnesota, where the growing window runs from mid-May to late September. Since retiring, my spouse and I have pursued small-space gardening as both a passion and a practical challenge. Raised beds, containers, vertical setups — we’ve tried them all, and we’ve learned what works.

This site is built for people like us: urban dwellers with limited square footage, retirees looking to stay active and connected to nature, and anyone who wants to grow more with less. Whether you’re working with a balcony, a patio, or a postage-stamp backyard, I’m here to share real-world ideas, seasonal tips, and lessons learned from years of hands-on experience.

Gardening in small spaces isn’t just possible — it’s deeply rewarding. Let’s make the most of every inch, together
