How To Easily Turn Your Garden Organic

A mixture of aspirin and water can help your ailing plants. An aspirin and a half, combined with a couple of gallons of water, will do amazing things for your plants. Spray the plants with the aspirin solution to help your plants fight disease. Be sure to repeat this process every two or three weeks.

Put an organic material, such as mulch two or three inches deep, in your flower beds. This will prevent weeds from growing, retain humidity, and feed your plants with the nutrients they need. Mulch also completes your garden, giving it a finished appearance.

When you are doing work in your garden, be efficient. Don’t waste your time by searching high and low for that packet of seeds or spade. Get all of your tools together before you go into your garden, then place them in a safe spot when you are finished with them. Invest in a tool belt or wear pants that have lots of pockets.

Pine mulch can be highly effective under the right conditions. Some garden plants are high in acidity, and do better with acidic soil. If you are growing these types of plants, simply gather up fallen pine needles for use in your garden. Cover up your beds with a few inches of needles. As they start to decompose, they’ll spread out acid onto the ground and soil.

An old laundry basket makes a great way to gather your harvest. The laundry basket is a perfect strainer for any produce run off. After you have rinsed your produce in the laundry basket, the water will just drain right out the sides.

Now, you shouldn’t get your hopes up and believe that a few tips are going to turn you into an instant professional gardener. However, these tips are a great starting point if you do plan to grow organically. As you implement these tips and hone your skills, you’ll be a professional green-thumb-holder in no time.
