Seeds that have sprouted don’t require the extra warmth that was needed before they sprouted. To ensure that your plants do not suffer shock, start eliminating the use of a heat source. Use several inches of organic materials for mulch in your flower beds. This is a good way to keep weed growth at bay and add nutrients that you need in your garden. A layer of mulch also creates a more attractive appearance.

When you are working in your garden, you will want to have all of your tools in a convenient location. You do not have the time to spend an hour looking for each tool you need. Set up the tools you will need for your day prior to hitting the garden, then put them away neatly at the end of your gardening session. Get a tool belt if you need to, or a pair of pants with a lot of pockets.

Pine mulch can be highly effective under the right conditions. There are some plants that thrive in acidic soil. Pine needles are an excellent form of mulch for these types of plants. Cover your beds with the needles, as they will decompose and disperse their acid throughout the soil.
