If you have children, plant strawberries, especially everbearing strawberries, in your organic garden. Children enjoy picking fresh fruit, especially if they can eat it right away.

The ambient temperate of a room with live plants should be kept between sixty-five and seventy-five degrees throughout the day. The temperature needs to remain steady and warm so the plants can grow. If you think it would not be comfortable to keep your residence that warm in the winter, consider purchasing a heat lamp to use on the plants.

Indoor Plants

Pay attention to how much light your indoor plants are getting. If you want indoor plants, choose specimens that can grow in relatively dark places. If you cannot achieve success merely through plant selection, consider using artificial light sources.

Easily and quickly prepare your ground for a garden of perennials. Only a garden spade and woods chips are necessary. To prepare the garden, slice out sheets of turf using the spade, and flip the turf upside down. Then, cover the newly turned soil with wood chips, approximately three inches deep. After a few weeks, you may then utilize the area to plant your flowers.

Learn to work efficiently. Don’t spend 30 minutes searching for a tool. Prepare all of your tools prior to working in the garden, and then put them away neatly when finished. Invest in a tool belt or wear pants that have lots of pockets.

Laundry Basket

Use an old laundry basket to gather your vegetables and fruits. The laundry basket is a perfect strainer for any produce run off. After you have rinsed your produce in the laundry basket, the water will just drain right out the sides.

Do you want to kill weeds naturally? You should layer some newspaper to get weeds under control. Without exposure to the sun, weeds cannot thrive. By placing newspaper over them, they will not get light and suffocate. Newspapers break down nicely over time to become part of the compost. You can then add a mulch layer right on top so that it looks more attractive.

When planting seeds in containers, plant the seed roughly three times deeper than the seed’s size. Some seeds need to be in direct sunlight, though, so you need to know information about each type of seed. Typical examples are petunias and ageratum. If you’re not sure if your seeds need sunlight, you can find out online or through the seeds’ package.

Try lightly ruffling the seedlings with your hands about twice a day. This will make your plants grow faster and they will get bigger than they would have without this practice.

Slugs are a nuisance that can be easily remedied with the use of an organic beer tramp. Dig a hole the size of a glass jar, and bury the jar with the top at ground level. Fill the jar with beer within one inch of the top. Beer attracts slugs and then they’ll get stuck in the jar.
